  • When it comes to choosing between cotton wicks and wooden wicks for candles, you may consider the following advantages and disadvantages:

    Cotton Wicks:

    Advantages:

    1. Clean Burning: Cotton wicks are known for their clean burn, producing minimal soot and smoke for a healthier candle experience 🍃🌬️

    2. Consistent Flame: Cotton wicks tend to burn steadily and evenly, providing a reliable and consistent burn throughout the candle's lifespan.

    3. Easy Maintenance: Cotton wicks are generally easy to trim and maintain, ensuring optimal burning performance with minimal effort.

    Disadvantages:

    1. Soot Build-Up: Despite their clean burn reputation, cotton wicks can sometimes produce minor soot, especially if not properly maintained. Always trim wick to 1/4" max, no longer.

    2. Mushrooming: Cotton wicks may create a mushroom-like carbon buildup at the tip, requiring frequent trimming to prevent uneven burning.

    3. Burn Time: In some cases, cotton wicks may burn faster than other types of wicks, potentially reducing the overall burn time of the candle.

    Appropriately sized cotton wicks have a huge impact on your candle. If you don't properly burn your candle or if the wick isn't the correct size, you could burn through your candle too fast or waste wax due to its inability to heat up because the wick is too small. I will continue to do my best in choosing the correct wick for your candle.
